Want To Volunteer In Montreal?
McGill is often accused of operating within a bubble, but the truth is that there are many people within McGill who are reaching out to make a difference in the Montreal community.
Join them on Friday, October 4th by participating in Community Engagement Day,and launch your volunteer experience at McGill!
What Is Community Engagement Day?
Community Engagement Day is an annual project from McGill’s Social Equity and Diversity Education Office. It hopes to celebrate and recognize the community engagement efforts that connect McGill to Montreal community groups. The project is not intended be one-off event; rather, it’s meant to be a spotlight to shine upon various opportunities to volunteer and make a difference in Montreal.
How Can I Participate?
It’s simple! On Friday, October 4th, there will be dozens of (free!) group activities on campus and around the city that each give a snapshot of a volunteer opportunity in Montreal, open to all students, staff, faculty, administration, and alumni. You can register in mid-September, but until then, check out our list of projects!
What Happens Afterwards?
The fun doesn’t have to stop! We want to make it as easy as possible for you to continue volunteering with an organization you discovered on Community Engagement Day. To enhance your experience as much as possible, we recommend that you register with SEDE’s Community Action Toolkit, which will provide advising, support and resources, as well as networking events, workshops, and reflection activities. Check out our Resources tab to learn more about the possibilities after Community Engagement Day!
